Global industrial product and service solutions provider RS South Africa has launched a new app to assist customers and suppliers in designing, building, and maintaining industrial equipment and facilities.

The RS Export mobile app gives users access to a catalogue of over 800 000 electronic, electrical, mechanical, and personal protective equipment, or PPE, products, with real-time stock and price information, available directly from a mobile device.

The app is available to existing and new RS customers that export goods from South Africa and the UK to the sub-Saharan African region. Its features have been designed to meet the needs of these customers and it is supported by the company’s export support team, to ensure that all administration complies with local and international regulations.

Real-time information from the app allows customers to stay informed about up-to-the-minute stock availability and price information and to explore different product categories within the catalogue. Keywords or manufacturer part numbers can be used to facilitate the search for a specific item. Detailed technical descriptions, manufacturers’ data sheets, 3D images, and schematics can be used to compare products.

The checkout process is streamlined, showing the total order price, including delivery costs based on destination and product dimensions. A customer can also connect an existing online account for preferential rates, or new users can use the app to register as a customer. Transactions allow for the use of an RS account or a range of alternative payment methods.
